![]() Recreation opportunities abound in Warrensburg. The $6.2 million community center is a fine example of a city meeting the needs of its residents. The center is a 52,000 sq. ft facility with three swimming pools and senior center. It also provides a weight room, gymnasium, walking track, game room, arts and crafts, and a commercial kitchen. The community center combined with eight local parks make Warrensburg a community with excellent recreational opportunities. |

Dotted with walking and biking trails, Warrensburg is a perfect fit for the outdoor recreation enthusiast. Warrensburg has something for everyone, softball, baseball diamonds, tennis courts a public golf course, volleyball courts, basketball courts, racquetball and handball facilities, and four swimming pools.
The Warrensburg Park & Recreation oversees the development, management and promotion of the Citys recreation facilities and programs. The Warrensburg Park & Recreation believes that recreation and park facilities are an investment vital to the quality of life for each individual in the community. The department believes that through structured and spontaneous recreation and leisure activities we help individuals become the best the can be. Blind Boone Park 402 West Pine Street. A tribute to John William "Blind" Boone, the park features a reflexology walkway; roped pathways; type, Braille and audio information signs; ADA approved bathrooms; wheelchair accessible picnic tables; and shuffleboard court and horseshoe pits. The scenery includes a 20' Gazebo with electricity, a life-size steel and bronze sculpture depicting Boone, a 13' tall Wind Harp and plants native to our area, plus a sensory garden for the visually impaired.
Cave Hollow Park is located on the western edge of the City, on the
north side of Gay Street. This 88-acre park includes two lighted ball fields, a soccer field,
sled runs, ¼ mile paved nature trail, playground equipment, concession stand, and
picnic facilities. In the future, the City plans to develop the use of a lake on the
property and add an amphitheater, handball courts and a multi-purpose game court.
Culp Park, the newest park, is located at the intersection of Main
and Hale Lake Road, adjacent to Lions Lake and Pertle Springs. The
50-acre park will contain nature and hiking trails that provide scenic
overlooks.
Grover Park is a 20-acre park that is located between East Gay and North Streets,
and along Burkarth Road. The park includes eight tennis courts, horseshoe pits, playground
equipment, picnic shelters and an outdoor pool.
Knob Noster State Park
, only minutes to the east, features more than 3,000 acres
for hiking, camping, fishing, bicycling and horseback riding.
Marr Park runs along a creek along the east and south edges of the Broadview
development, just west of Ridgeview. It contains 17 acres and provides a walking trail,
swings, and picnic tables.
Shepard Memorial Park is located one block south of Business 50, between College
Street and Holden Street. It contains the largest playground in the city, picnic/barbecue facilities,
and restrooms. The Barnett House, located on the park grounds, is the current home of the
Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.
West Park , which covers 162 acres of land is the largest City park. It
is located just to the west of the City, on the south side of Pine Street.

restrooms, complex of soccer fields, picnic shelters, playground equipment, nature trails,
native grass (nature interpretive) areas, and plans for future additions.
Lakes in the
Warrensburg Area
Lions Lake, a 30-acre park that is home to migrating waterfowl and other
wildlife.
Pertle Springs, on the south edge of town, features a golf course, swimming pool,
biking trails and other outdoor recreational options.
Truman Lake, a 50,000 acre reservoir 30 miles south of town that features water
sports, camping and fishing.

The
University
of Central Missouri Athletics
The University of Central Missouri was founded in
1877 and has a strong athletics department. The Cardinal and Black clad
Mules offer basketball, baseball, volleyball, wrestling, softball, soccer, cross

United
Soccer Club
The purpose of the United Soccer Club is to promote the game of soccer in and
around the Warrensburg area and to develop competitive high level players
through quality coaching in accordance with FIFA standards.
Player development is the priority of the United Soccer Club and is accomplished
through professionally licensed coaches.
The Club provides a year round learning environment including structured
thematic practices, spring and fall participation in the Kansas City Metro
League, winter practices and a 3V3 informal indoor winter league. Teams may also
participate in various indoor competitive leagues during the winter. Team do
participate in various local and "state tournaments".
The club principles include full and committed participation by players and
parents with a code of conduct agreement.
The United Soccer Club of Central Missouri encourages and welcomes player
participation from all area communities. There are active players from
Knob Noster, Whiteman Air Force Base,
